Our Story
At a time in Lydia’s (Founder) life, she couldn’t afford sanitary pads, which led her to use unsanitary alternatives. This was a very difficult period for her, and later she realized she was not alone. About 500 million women globally, which is 1 in 4 women, face this same issue. In Nigeria, her home country, 37 million women and girls face this same hurdle.
Determined to make a difference, Lydia founded Allgreen Pads with the aim to help at least 1 million marginalized girls and women access menstrual hygiene products within five years. By providing these essential products, we help them overcome the hurdle of using unsanitary alternatives like tissues and rags, or even staying away from school because they lack sanitary pads.
Moreover, our mission extends to helping the environment by reducing the use of conventional sanitary pads that may take 500-800 years to biodegrade. Allgreen Pads are designed to degrade within 12-18 months, offering a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative.
